Varsity Assistant Head Coach

This marks 9 years coaching high school and the 4th year on the Buchanan Varsity Girls Soccer staff for "Coach Potts." 

He was a proud coaching staff member of the Division II State Champion Varsity team during their dominant run through the CIF (So Cal Regional – Division II) State Championship tournament in 2020-2021. 

In addition, he has coached 6 years in the WPSL.  Coach Potts carries over 25 years of coaching and over 45 years of playing experience.

Erik played Division 1 soccer at Fresno State.  Soccer is a family passion in the Pottorff family, with wife Teresa playing at Fresno City College, daughter Kelsee at Division 1 UC Irvine, and daughter Karlee Division 1 at San Jose State.  He brings intensity, dedication, excitement, and passion for this coming high school season.

Varsity Goal Keeper Coach

This is coach Erik Hernandez’ 3rd year coaching high school varsity, this will be his 2nd year with Buchanan. Coach Erik (H) was on staff while the Buchanan varsity girls won Division II State Championship in 2021. Erik will be bringing over 20 years of coaching experience.

Coach H was named coach of the year in 2019 with the Clovis Crossfire competitive program, he also has won state cup with his 2000-2001 Clovis Crossfire girls team and went on to win the National cup that same year in Colorado. Erik is also assistant coach of the Clovis Crossfire 08 EAL boys and 04 GA girls teams and also brings collegiate coaching experience working as goal keeper coach with the Clovis Community women’s program.

Erik played NCAA Division II soccer at San Francisco state. Coach H is married to Kristin Hernandez who also played at San

Francisco State. Coach H has two daughters, Madilyn who played at Buchanan and was a member of the of the 2018 team that won "Valleys",  and Kailyn who is a senior attending Buchanan, and is playing with the Clovis Crossfire 04 NPL team. Madilyn is currently playing at Fresno Pacific University. “I want to say that I bring discipline, hard work, intensity, commitment, respect along with having fun too, I’m looking forward to a successful season with this great coaching staff and players. I’m all about QDA”
